Ingredients
  • 1 baked tart shell, 10 inches across
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons kirsch or Frangelico (optional)
  • 1 ¼ cups whipped cream
  • 1 pint ripe strawberries
  • ½ pint mixed berries (maybe cherries and redcurrants)
  • 1 package strawberry gelatin
Instructions
  1. Boil the sugar and kirsch or Frangelico, and then add the gelatin and ¼ cup boiling water.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Paint the inside of the tart shell with this glaze to waterproof it and let it set for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the rest of the boiling water to the gelatin mixture and stir it well.
  5. Stir in the cold water.
  6. Spread a layer of whipped cream inside the tart shell, and then arrange the strawberries and other berries over the top.
  7. Wait until the gelatin mixture is thick, and then pour it over the top of the strawberry tart.
  8. Do not worry if it goes over the edges or soaks through the cake.
  9. Refrigerate the strawberry tart for 3 hours, and then serve it in slices.
